Fancy getting up close and personal to lions, snakes and camels? Chapultepec Zoo in Mexico City is a great day out for the whole family.
Rather than small enclosures and miserable-looking animals, it’s more like a mini safari park. Hippos laze around by the lake, giraffes huddle together seeking shade and tigers stretch out in the sun.
Don’t forget to visit the python enclosure for a dangerous encounter or check out the butterfly farm. There’s even a simulator so you can get you photo taken being eaten by a shark.
The best part? Entrance is free! See what else there is to do in Chapultepec Park and find out how to get there on the metro.
