Looking for hostels in Montañita, Ecuador? This little party town is packed full of good places to stay, from luxury cabanas to budget dorms on the beach.
Most travellers choose to stay in town but if you want some peace and quiet – or any sleep at all – you’re best off staying further afield.
- TOP PICK! Montañita Cabanas
Set in beautiful grounds, Montañita Cabanas, a 5 minute walk from town, are by far the best value for money. For just $10 per person you can get you a thatched cabana (pictured above) with swimming pool, jacuzzi and communal kitchen.
- Tikilimbo Backpackers
We love this hostel for its spacious dorms, airy balconies, pool tables and hammocks overlooking the strip. Breakfast is pretty good, too. Dorms cost from $10.
- Mochica-Sumpa hostel
This bamboo-style hostel (pictured above) is right on the beach and has double hammocks hanging out front. The dorms themselves are basic and bathrooms fairly cramped for the price ($15).
- El Centro del Mundo
Some love it, some hate it. If you don’t mind dark dorms and creeky floors, this hostel is ideal for those on a tight budget. Good views of the ocean, stumbling distance from Cocktail Alley and just $4.
Love partying? Taganga in Colombia is another great party town – and it’s a great base for exploring Tayrona National Park.
