Louis Walsh has unwittingly boosted tourism in Spain by taking his X Factor group to Barcelona for ‘bootcamp’.

The X Factor judge, 59, revealed the exotic destination during last week’s show and it’s thought bookings to the city have  soared by 30% as a result.

Flight comparison site Skyscanner believes that viewers are being influenced by the ITV show, selecting destinations that the judges are picking.

And it’s not only Louis Walsh who has pulling power. Kelly Roland, who is taking the girls’ category to Miami, is said to have boosted sales by 20%, while flights to LA received a 10% spike thanks to Gary Barlow‘s decision to whisk the boys off to the USA.
