Brad Pitt has apparently boosted tourism in Glasgow – with hotel bookings at an all-time high.

The actor, 47, stayed in the city in August to film his latest movie World War Z – and it’s thought to have increased the number of visitors.

‘We welcomed Brad Pitt and more than 1,000 production staff working on Hollywood blockbuster World War Z, which generated significant business for the city’s hotels,’ Gordon Matheson, leader of Glasgow City Council, tells the Daily Mail.

‘Not only are our hotel bookings at an all-time high, Glasgow is now also the busiest city in Scotland.’

According to the latest statistics, Glasgow has filled more hotel rooms than Edinburgh, generating a whopping £180million in 2011.
